The KSI 618 employs the latest technology resulting
in a loudspeaker of unprecedented performance. Superior sound
quality, spatial detail and imaging are but a few of the reasons
the KSI 618 Reference Monitor is among the finest.
From critical studio monitoring to high end home theaters,
the KSI 618 offers unbelievable performance. The 618
features a 6.5" bass mid transducer with an unheard of
3" high temperature voice coil.
The voice coil employs hexagonal winding on the coil former,
thus eliminating the air gaps found in circular wire coils
and enables the 618 to handle high power with extremely
wide dynamic range and very low power compression. As a result,
the 618 produces extremely smooth midrange for superb
voice and music reproduction. High frequencies are easily
handled by our 28mm fabric dome transducer. It features the
same hexagonal voice coil winding with the addition of ferro
fluid cooling. High frequencies are open and airy, with inaudible
distortion. To provide a smooth transition between the bass
mid transducer and high frequency transducer, we have engineered
our crossover with the highest quality low tolerance components.
